INTRODUCTION
Almost every hospital in India, big or small, is looking for some form of accreditation Hospital accreditation has become a buzzword now particfularly as the IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority) , the governing body for all insurance companies, has made it mandatory to empanel only those hospitals that have acquired accreditation. Hospitals are therefore actively recruiting coordinators who have an understanding of the accreditation process to provide a framework for better patient care and quality improvement across all functions of the hospital.
This is a huge job opportunity for anyone interested in working on NABH accreditation or quality control in hospitals. Keeping this in mind, the Healthcare Management Institute at KEM Hospital, Pune, has launched a Certificate Course in Hospital Accreditation from 1st December 2018. It is meant for all graduates and diploma holders who wish to embark on a career in quality management in hospitals. It is also meant for working professionals in the health care sector who wish to further their career and improve promotion prospects.
The biggest advantage that our will students have is that the college is located within the hospital. Our students will thus have first-hand exposure to the services and facilities in a large multispecialty hospital setting and gain practical experience on a daily basis. They will be taken around the different departments to show them how each one functions. This will be of great help in understanding the various documentation processes involved in hospital accreditation.
COURSE STRUCTURE
The course is of two months duration and will be conducted only on Sundays for the benefit of students and working staff. Class timings will be 10 am to 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm. There will be a lunch break from 1 pm to 2 pm. The curriculum is divided into four modules, each lasting two weeks. At the end of each module a test will be held. Those students securing 60% or more marks will be able to move on to the next module. Others will have to repeat the test till they secure 60% or more marks. At the end of the program, every student who has successfully cleared all four modules will be awarded a Certificate in Hospital Accreditation.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• Bachelor’s Degree in any faculty of any statutory University or equivalent diploma awarded by the Board of Technical Education of any State / Central Government
• Post SSC – 3 years Diploma
• Post HSC – 2 years Diploma
• General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
FEE
Tuition fee for the course is Rs. 12,000/- inclusive of all study materials and tests.
ADMISSION PROCESS
Application forms are available on the website Brochures and application forms are also available at the Institute.Fill up the details and send it to the Institute with a demand draft (DD) of Rs.100 by courier / registered post. Cash is accepted only if submitting the form in person at the Institute.
No refund will be given to students who cancel their admission after start of the course.
