1) What is the qualification required for admission to the hospital management course?

a. Bachelor’s degree in any discipline

b. General Nurse Midwife (GNM) with one year work experience

c. 3 Yrs diploma holders after SSC/2Yrs diploma holders after HSC with one year work experience


2) What is the process for admission?

The application form is available here. Fill out the online form, print out the form, and send it along with copies of certificates and demand draft of INR 400 payable to Healthcare Management Institute, KEM Hospital Pune by courier/ registered post.


3) How many seats are available per year?

60 seats are available per year.


4) Please provide me information about the hospital management diploma course.

5) When will the course start?

PGDHM Course starts in month of July of every year.


6) Is this a correspondence course? / Is this a distance education course?

No, this is not a correspondence course/distance education course. It is a part time course.


7) Can I do this course externally as I’m working in a hospital?

No, this is not an external course. It is a part time course.


8) Is there any age limit?

No, there is no age limit for PGDHM Course.


9) What is the total fee for the course?

Total fees for the course is INR 45,000 only.


10) What is the fee structure of the course? / Is there an installment plan for the payment of fees?

11) Is there any Hostel facility?

No, we do not provide any hostel facilities. But there are private hostels nearby.


12) What are your class timings any how many days a week do you have classes?

Classes will be held daily for four hours from 9 am to 1 pm. Topics for the week for each subject will be discussed. Students are expected to read the topics listed in the academic calendar for the week and come prepared to discuss any doubts with the faculty. Timetables will be released when the college starts.


13) When does the admission start for the PGDHM course?

Admission starts in the first week of January every year.


14) What is the last date for admission?

As per Pune University regulations, intake capacity for this course is 60 seats. Once all 60 seats are filled, admissions will be closed. If seats are available, admissions will continue till the 1st week of September.


15) What are the career options after this course? / After this course do we work only in hospitals or can we work in other companies?

The PGDHM Course will equip students with the skill & confidence to take up careers as Administrators / Managers across the healthcare sector. This includes hospitals, health insurance companies, TPAs, diagnostic laboratories, IT sector, BPO healthcare verticals and health check-up clinics.

16) Can I send the application form along with the document and DD?

Yes, you can send the application form along with the certificate copies and demand draft of INR 400 payable to Healthcare Management Institute, KEM Hospital Pune by courier/ registered post.


17) What will be our pay scale on an average? / Please give me information about placement and salary package after completing the course.

The institute will assist in the placement of the candidates who complete the course. Pay scale/ Salary packages will depend on your qualifications, past work experience and your performance in the interview and of course the organization you have been selected for work at.


18) Is there 100% placement after doing this course?

All our students have been placed in suitable positions over the last eight years. However, we do not guarantee 100% placement as we are not a recruitment agency. We will help you to get a good placement.
